March 28, 2008, San Francisco, California. At the 9th annual Whiskies of the World Expo, Simon Brooking of Beam Global, owners of the Laphroaig brand of beverages, suggested that the price of the 30 Year Old Laphroaig may go up as much as double it's current price, and soon. Prices in the San Francisco Bay Area place the retail price of a bottle of 30 Year Old near the $300.00 mark and he expects that to jump to over $600 USD as the current stock is drawn down. The reason? It's simply rare and getting rarer.
